Hearing Tests

We provide hearing tests in Candler, NC, for adults of all ages. A hearing test is the first step in not only determining if a hearing loss is present, but the type and severity as well. The purpose of the hearing test is to assess how well you can hear different sounds at various frequencies and if your speech comprehension has been affected. During your hearing exam, we will perform a series of tests, including:

Hearing Aid Evaluation

Using the results of your hearing test – your audiogram – we will have a conversation with you to determine which hearing aids would be best for your hearing loss. We will go over what your lifestyle is like, how active you are, and what your budget is. These factors along with your degree of hearing loss will help us determine which device could best help you. Because we are locally owned private practice, we offer the best rated hearing aids available.

Hearing Aid Repair

Hearing aids are incredibly durable and can withstand everyday elements. However, sometimes an issue arises and you may need your hearing aid repaired. At our hearing clinic, we offer repair services for your hearing aids. We can fix most issues in office, however, if there is a more serious issue with your device, we can send them to the manufacturer for you.

Hearing Aid Cleaning

You rely on your hearing aids to provide you with the proper amplification to hear the world around you. To get the most out of your devices it’s important to clean them every day. In addition, you should also bring your hearing aids into our office for a deep cleaning. Dust, dirt, and dead skin cells can build-up in the tiny components of your hearing aids, causing a problem. We recommend bringing your devices in every six months for a professional cleaning and checkup.

Tinnitus Management

Tinnitus is the perception of hearing a noise when none is present. Tinnitus is also often commonly referred to as “ringing in the ears.” The symptoms include hearing a buzzing, humming, ringing, or whistling sound. Tinnitus affects everyone differently. For some people, they may only hear tinnitus at night for a few seconds, while others hear the noises constantly.

If tinnitus is bothering you, a hearing evaluation is a good first step. During your appointment we can perform a tinnitus test to discover the cause. If you want to find relief from ringing in the ears, we offer some tinnitus treatments that can help. One of the best management options is hearing aids.
